GPs gather to develop and plan for the future of primary care

More than 100 GPs from practices across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) gathered yesterday (Tuesday 10 September) for our third GP members’ event at Ashton Gate Stadium.

Topics discussed this year included the NHS Long Term Plan as well as the CCG’s Primary Care Strategy, which will be going to our Governing Body in October.

This year also saw a particular focus on the integration of primary care with adult community healthcare services, following the recent appointment of Sirona care & health as the single provider for community healthcare services across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

CCG Locality Representative for Bristol North and West and local GP, Dr Kirsty Alexander, said:

This was a really exciting event and it was good to see so many colleagues from across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire attending. We have an ambitious agenda for primary care in our area, but with the Sirona care & health contract now in place, we will have resourcing and support in place to help us to drive forward our plans to join up primary and community healthcare and improve services for all local people.
