Residents from Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire are invited to an evening on health on 27 June 2019.
We are organising this event as part of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to give those who attend the opportunity to meet the people who commission local health services and find out more about our work in shaping better health for the population of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
The event will take place at the Bath & Bristol Science Park in Emersons Green from 6.30pm on Thursday 27 June.
Dr Jonathan Hayes, Local GP and Chair of the CCG, explained: “Our AGM is a key annual event for us. This year we are making it more interactive and more hands on so that we can engage with more people. Everything we do is shaped and informed by the needs of those living in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and we hope they will take this opportunity to come and talk to us and find out more about our work.
“The event is an opportunity to meet our teams, ask questions and find out more about how NHS money works, how our money flows from taxation through to your hospitals, how we commission services, and you can even tell us how you would spend NHS money.
“There will also be the opportunity to find out more about developments in primary care – try our new askmyGP digital platform, which we are trialling to give patients quicker access to GP advice and guidance, and find out about urgent care – just how many calls are made to 111 every year.”
The event will also include talks on a range of health topics from local GPs.
Dr Hayes added: “We
hope as many people as possible come along and find out about our work at what
looks set to be an informative and enjoyable evening.”
