This engagement set out changes we were proposing to make to our Allocation of Resources Policy for Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funded individuals. This is the policy which sets out how we decide how to spend money for Continuing Healthcare to make sure it reflects individuals’ choices and preferences as much as possible.
The key changes we had proposed to the current policy were:
- the involvement of a Multi-disciplinary Team (including GP) in delivering domiciliary care packages;
- the introduction of a formal agreement, known as a Memorandum of Understanding, between the CCG and individuals who receive continuing healthcare at home;
- the introduction of a ‘high cost’ panel to approve care packages that cost at least 20% more than an equivalent care placement.
We did not receive any feedback to suggest we should not proceed with our proposed changes, and the revised policy will be published on our website when it has been finalised.
