What is the Integrated Care Board (ICB)?

The Integrated Care Board is the new organisation responsible for the day-to-day running of the NHS. The NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB takes account of population needs, arranges for the provision of services and manages the NHS budget.

Nationally, ICBs were legally established on 1 July 2022, and Clinical Commissioning Groups were abolished.

The information in our ICB Organogram provides a summary information about the emerging structures in our ICB.

Our priorities

As the first year under the new structures develops, we are working on these immediate priorities:

  • We will continue recruiting into key posts for the Integrated Care Board over the summer.
  • We will work together to develop an Integrated Care Strategy, guided by a new public engagement exercise, running from July 1 – September 25
  • This includes a whole-population survey exploring what keeps people happy, healthy and well, alongside more in-depth community engagement and workshops.
