Our priorities

We have worked with our clinical and council partners to define priority areas for improving healthcare in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Our priorities help us make sure we’re focusing on areas that have the most positive impact for our community’s health. They have been informed by analysing the health needs of our local population, as well as consultations with patients, the public and our health and care partners. They also reflect the Five Year Forward View and the NHS England planning guidance.

We’ve also developed a Sustainability and Transformation Partnership, which outlines a single approach to improving healthcare for the 970,000 people who we work for. The leaders of health and social care services in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire have come together through this partnership to commit to transforming services and improving outcomes for our population.

Our vision

Overall, our vision is to:

  • Improve the health of the whole population
  • Reduce health inequalities
  • Ensure NHS services are fit for the long term
